SUMMARY REPORT ON THE 5th ROUND OF THE CROATIAN TELECOM FIRST CFL
Under the framework of the Direct Protection of Fan Violence project, CHC observers monitored the games of the 5th Round of the Croatian Telecom First CFL, and based on direct insight and collected data recorded the following events.
HNK RIJEKA – GNK DINAMO 0 : 2
The derby of the 5th Round of the Croatian Telecom First CFL was played on August 11, 2017 at 19:00 hrs at Rujevica Stadium, before about 7500 spectators, of which 2000 were members of the Armada (HNK Rijeka fan club), and close to 300 Bad Blue Boys (BBB – GNK Dinamo fan club). The match progressed in the usual tense atmosphere because the top two clubs on the scoreboard were playing each other.
In the 1st minute the Armada chant “Purger pussies”, which they repeat in the 26th, 88th, and 89th minute.
Dissatisfied with some of the referee’s decisions, members of the Armada chant to the Croatian Football Federation (HNS): “CFF faggots, you screwed up football” in the 7th, 42nd, and 50th minute. They expressed their frustration with the referee’s decisions also by chanting chauvinistic shouts of “Gypsies, Gypsies” in the 43rd and 59th minute, to which they were joined by a large number of spectators at Rujevica Stadium. Between the 62nd and 55th minute the Armada “sing” “Fuck you Dinamo”, and light a smoke bomb in the 67th minute.
The BBB tried to stick out the whole time, but the more numerous Rijeka fans overpowered their chants. Only on several occasions could we hear “Mamić, Gypsy, leave the holy shrine” (45th min), “Rijeka pussies” (74th min), and in the 73rd minute we hear a chauvinistic chant aimed at the city of Rijeka: “Stinky Rijeka, you’re full of Serbs; don’t worry Rijeka, there’s more willows for hanging”, immediately followed by “Mamić, Mamić, you Chetnik pussy”.
NK LOKOMOTIVA – NK OSIJEK 2 : 3
The match of the 5th Round of the Croatian Telecom First CFL was played in Zagreb on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 19:00 hrs at Kranjčevićeva Street Stadium in front of about 350 fans, of which a group of 50 or so members of the Kohorta (NK Osijek fan club) stood out with their loud cheering. The game progressed in a sporty and competitive atmosphere, without any fan outbursts or incidents.
HNK HAJDUK – NK SLAVEN BELUPO 1: 0
The match of the 5th Round of the Croatian Telecom First CFL was played on August 11 at 21:00 hrs at Poljud Stadium in Split in front of about 10,000 spectators, of which roughly 3000 were members of Torcida (HNK Hajduk fan club).
Members of Torcida were silent and did not cheer at all. In the 23rd minute they lit 23 flares in honour of Torcida member Ivan Mate Blažević who was recently killed. Blažević was the only person convicted for the attack on football referee Bruno Marić by a group of Torcida members in Split last year. After the flare show, the group lit Bengal flares and left the stadium.
