SUMMARY REPORT ON THE CROATIAN FOOTBALL CUP QUARTER-FINALS
Under the framework of the Direct Protection of Fan Violence project, CHC observers monitored the quarter-final games of the Croatian Football Cup, and based on direct insight and collected data recorded the following events:
NK Bjelovar : GNK Dinamo 1 : 2
The quarter-final match of the Croatian Football Cup was played on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 14:00 hrs at Bjelovar’s City Stadium.
About 1300 spectators gathered at the Bjelovar Stadium, and among them a separate group of close to 100 Bad Blue Boys (BBB – GNK Dinamo fan club). For the most part of the game, up until the 60th minute, the BBB quietly observed the match, save for their visible display of three portraits with the crossed-out head of Zdravko Mamić. From the 60th minute on, the BBB began to chant insults aimed at Zdravko Mamić, and in the 74th minute they chant, “Mamić, you gypsy, leave the holy shrine,” and continued their offensive cheering even after the referee’s final whistle, yelling, “Mamić, Gypsy” and “Mamić, monkey”.
NK Solin – HNK Hajduk 1 : 2
The quarter-final match of the Croatian Football Cup was played on October 26, 2016 at the football field by the Jadro River in Solin. Over 2000 spectators attended the game, of which there were about 300 members of Torcida (HNK Hajduk fan club). One smoke bomb was activated in the 11th, 39th, and 40th minutes respectively. In the 66th minute, Torcida put on a small pyromaniac show at the Solin playing field, lighting 18 coloured smoke bombs. A few minutes after this they activated one flare and one smoke bomb in the audience.
NK Šibenik – NK Osijek 1 : 2
The quarter-final match of the Croatian Football Cup was played on October 26, 2016 at the Šubićevac Stadium in Šibenik, attended by close to 400 spectators. No incidents occurred during the game.
NK RUDEŠ : HNK RIJEKA 3 : 5 (3 : 3)
The quarter-final match of the Croatian Football Cup was played on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at ŠC Rudeš Stadium in Zagreb. About 800 spectators attended the game, which included about 50 members of the Armada (HNK Rijeka fan club), and 30 or so fervent NK Rudeš fans.
The first half of this highly exciting match full of incredible twists, passed in a very correct and sportsmanlike spirit.
This fair and sporty atmosphere at ŠC Rudeš Stadium was ruined in the game’s second half. First of all in the 61st minute when the fervent NK Rudeš fans light a flare, secondly in the 64th minute when members of the Armada shout out “Purger pussies”, and finally in the 67th minute when the Armada chants “Mišo, Mišo sucked all our dicks!”
In the 73rd minute, some NK Rudeš fans sing “Rotten Rijeka, you’re full of Serbs, don’t worry Rijeka, there’s more willows for hanging”, followed by Armada members chanting “Zagreb is where the vermin live, the Purger vermin, Croatian shame” in the 74th min. In the 75th minute, they sing “I hate Dinamo, I hate Hajduk”, and “Purger pussies” in the 78th minute.
In the 80th minute, Rudeš fans light another flare, while members of the Armada chant “CFF faggots, you screwed up football” in the 80th min.
Such offensive and vulgar chanting continued into the 8th minute of overtime as members of the Armada shout out “CFF faggots, you screwed up football”, in the 25th minute with “We’ll fuck all of Zagreb and Cibona and Dinamo”, in the 26th minute with “A loan shark lives in Zagreb, Purger shame”, and ended with “Purger pussies, fucked by Mamić” in the 28th minute.
In the 28th minute of overtime, some NK Rudeš fans repeat the song “Rotten Rijeka, you’re full of Serbs, don’t worry Rijeka, there’s more willows for hanging”, and at the very end, in the 29th minute of overtime, members of the Armada chant “Purger pussies” and sing their vulgar refrain: “How good it is to fuck you again, stick my dick up your ass…”
