SUMMARY REPORT ON THE 21st ROUND OF THE CROATIAN TELECOM FIRST LEAGUE
Under the framework of the Direct Prevention of Fan Violence project, CHC observers monitored the games of the 21st Round of the Croatian Telecom First League, and based on direct insight and collected data, recorded the following events.
NK OSIJEK – GNK DINAMO 2 : 4
The 21st Round of the Croatian Telecom First League was played on February 10, 2018 at 17:00 hrs at City Garden Stadium in Osijek. About 4500 fans attended the game, of which over 300 were members of the Kohorta (NK Osijek fan club), and about 500 members of the Bad Blue Boys (GNK Dinamo fan club), including 30-40 Fan Club members (GNK Dinamo).
In the 11th minute, dissatisfied with one of the referee’s calls, the Kohorta chant “Gypsies, Gypsies”, followed by “Purger pussies”. In the 30th minute, the BBB activate a firecracker, and in the 31st flashing lights. In the 43rd minute, among the BBB fans, we see a picture with the crossed-out head of Zdravko Mamić, followed by the repeated chanting of “Mamić, Gypsy, leave the holy shrine!” This is followed by the lighting of a smoke device and one firecracker, which is repeated again in the 34th minute.
In the 36th minute, the BBB activate about 30 flares, of which 17 fall onto the tartan track. The flare show lasts all the way up to the 78th minute. Some of the flares continue to burn among the fans for a while. The referee was forced to interrupt the game for several minutes due to the smoke at the stadium.
HNK RIJEKA – NK ISTRA 1961 4 : 0
The match of the 21st Round of the Croatian Telecom First League was played on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 15:00 hrs at Rujevica Stadium in Rijeka. Over 4000 fans attended the game (4118 to be exact), among which there were about 600 members of the Rijeka Armada (HNK Rijeka fan club). There were roughly 60 members of the Demons (NK Istra 1961 fan club), who were let into the stadium only towards the end of the first half in the 39th minute.
Both fan clubs cheered their teams on in a fair manner, with only a minimal number of abusive chanting on the part of the Armada: “Istra pussies” (44th, 46th and 70th min), to which the Demons responded with “Rijeka pussies”. Members of the Armada displayed a banner with the words: “HNS” (CFF) covered with a set of bars.
HNK CIBALIA – HNK HAJDUK 0 : 5
The match between HNK Cibalia – HNK Hajduk was played on February 11, 2018 at Cibalia Stadium in Vinkovci. About 3200 fans attended the game, of which there were a group of close to 100 Ultras fans (HNK Cibalia fan club), and about 700 members of Torcida (HNK Hajduk fan club). In the 15th minute, one firecracker was thrown, and then in the 27th the Ultras chant “CFF faggots, you screwed up football!” In the 30th min we see one flaring firecracker, followed again by the chanting of “CFF faggots, you screwed up football!”
In the 60th min Torcida activates a bomb explosive, and then a large number of flares, of which 8 fall onto the tartan track, followed by smoke devices in the 64th and 66th minute. They then sing: “Life is gambling, whores and brawls. Alcohol, drugs and that is all. Hajduk, I love you…”
