SUMMARY REPORT ON THE 31st ROUND OF THE CROATIAN TELECOM FIRST LEAGUE
Under the framework of the Direct Protection of Fan Violence project, CHC observers monitored the games of the 31st Round of the Croatian Telecom First League, and based on direct insight and collected data recorded the following events.
HNK RIJEKA – HNK OSIJEK 1:0
The match was played in Rijeka, 21. of April, on the Rujevica stadium, in front of around 5.000 watchers, among them were about 1.500 members of Armada (HNK Rijeka fan club) and about 50 members of Kohorta (GNK Osijek fan club).
HNK HAJDUK – GNK DINAMO 1:2
The match of the 31. Round of HT first soccer league, played on April 22. 2018, between HNK Hajduk and GNK Dinamo, was held at the Poljud stadium in Split in front of 32.000 supporters, among which there were about 7.000 members of Torcida (HNK Hajduk fan club), and around 700 members of BBB (GNK Dinamo fan club).
Before the match, BBB chanted “Tovar pussies”, and form 12’ – 14’ minute Torcida chanted “Kill, kill the purger”.
In 17’ minute BBB chanted “Tito, party, hajduk’s army, you are Tito’s, and Tito is yours”. In that time, Torcida threw 3 coanon blasts, and in 22’ they chanted “I hate Dinamo, that serbian name”. In 25’ minute Torcida lit up a flare, and from 33’-35’ minute they chanted “Step, step over the purger”. In 43’ minute Torcida lit up 2 flares and one smoke bomb, while in 44’ BBB raised a picture with a crossed over Zdravko Mamić’s head.
From 45’ minute Torcida sang “I’m lighting up tall furnaces, 2 rows of coal, 4 purgers, purger screams aaa, there will be baking…” . In 52’ “purger pussies” could be hear again, and BBB chanted “Kill, kill the tovar”.
In 60’ minute Torcida threw a chair towards the pitch, and in the next couple of minutes they lit up more than 40 flares, 14 smoke bombs and 8 canon blasts. In 93’ BBB chanted “tovar pussies” again.
NOTE: The whole atmosphere of the game was in the shadow of the fact that it was a game that decided the champion of the state. Besides that, the match was held in the shadow of Torcida members requests for HNK Hajduk’s president Ivan Kos’ resignation, under the charges that he was involved in corruption and bribing the referees by taking them to dinners before matches. Supervisory board superseded Ivan Kos after the game.
The hot supporters passion ricocheted some player of Hajduk as well.
According to the media, Marko Futacs, one of the most popular Hajduk players, supported president Kos. Around noon, a ‘punishment’ for him awaited. Some members of Torcida attacked a player named Said on the street, and Futacs got the ‘shorter end’. He, as well as other 5 Hajduk players were trying do defend their player, but during the conflict he got kicked in the head.
